Welcome to David Robinson's Astrophotography
As a fledgling astrophotograher, I humbly post these images.  To be honest, most of them stink.  But they represent the efforts of many nights of joy and toil learning this craft and by accident, a little bit about the cosmos along the way.  They serve as a measurement of progress.   I have no desire or goal to get published or make a living selling images.  I do it for the fun of it.  As soon as I started in March 2003 with the ETX-90 Telescope I wanted to take pictures of what I was viewing.  In June 2003 I purchased the Nikon Coolpix 4500 digital camera and the journey began.

The website is an exercise in organizational development.  I did not have a clue how to organize the first images and may be pretending to know how to now.  Many times I forgot to reverse the images as an SCT type telescope reverses images horizontally.  I apologize for that.  I don't have the skills to measure or estimate a lot of elements you may find on accomplished astrophotographers websites.  My photo adjustments for color, contrast, brightness, hue, and saturation may not agree with your ideas of how an object should look.  You may also notice an occasional word misspelled or fypo...I mean typo.  My apologies for that too.

I do not have an observatory as I do not have the room for one.  I have a driveway observatory which means I have to haul everything out of the house or garage and set up every time I go out.  Poor me...

RIght now the web page is set up according to what camera and what telescope was used for the particular astronomy object imaged.  For example, my images of the Sun were taken with the Nikon Coolpix camera with the Meade LX200 telescope.  Those will be the only links available for viewing my current Sun images.  Remember, for a larger image click on the thumbnail image and use your browser's BACK button to return the last page.

So let's see how far this journey will go.  Please feel free to download an image if you wish, but do respect Copywrite law.

Enjoy, laugh, or cry, whichever emotion occurs...
